EstEnergy S.p.A. is the retailer for the energy products of the AcegasAps S.p.A. group based in Trieste. On 13 September 2007 the Board of Directors of AcegasAps S.p.A. chose Ascopiave S.p.A. as a partner with which to share the development of the gas and electricity sales business.
On 18 December 2007 Asco Holding S.p.A. signed a contract for a 49% share in EstEnergy S.p.A., thus creating a gas supplier which with over 610.000 customers and approximately 1.5 billion cubic metres sold to the end user is one of Italy's biggest, as well as being the leading supplier in North-East Italy, opening up the possibility of further major developments.
