CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE SALE OF NATURAL GAS AND ELECTRICITY
The Code of Conduct outlines standards aimed at ensuring the necessary degree of market transparency and behaviour in relation to sales. These standards are in addition to the reference standards for supply issued by the Regulatory Authority for Electricity and Gas and are contained in Authority documents (Decisions no. 126/04 and no. 105/06).
The Code of Conduct sets out:
general transparency and integrity for retailers;
how prices are presented;
how sales staff must behave;
the information and documents to be supplied to customers;
the content of contracts;
a cooling off period;
advance notification to customers if the contract is to be changed;
The Regulatory Authority for Electricity and Gas on its own website provides a guide and an “Easy Energy” window which explains to consumers in simple terms what changes will take place with the introduction of competition in the market for electricity and gas. Download the guide: > Energia semplice
